The Oval at Castrol Raceway is home to one of Canada’s largest factions of 360 Sprint Cars. The popularity of NASCAR and the growing demand for extreme sports is ever increasing event attendance. Families jump at the chance to see their local heroes competing at home.

The Oval track boasts a spectator demographic we are quite proud to call unique. There is virtually no variation in numbers amongst the crowd we draw. THE OVAL CARS

There are 5 classes that compete on the Oval at Castrol Raceway on a regular basis. Each season will host 10 “Nite Thunder” events with various classes participating. The Oval at Castrol Raceway is also home to many other feature events such as the Edge Monster Madness, Gold Cup 360 Sprint Car Challenge, Absolute Annihilation Night, and the Late Model Oilman’s Invitational.

Sprint Cars

The most popular and fastest class participating at the oval Track. These high flying, high tech, winged cars “thunder” down the strait-away reaching speeds over 200kph. Sprint cars are known for their wild and spectacular crash, but thanks to the safety equipments of these cars and track staff, no drivers get seriously hurt. Castrol Raceway has 2 Sprint cars classes frequently competing; the 360 Sprints and the Sportsman Sprints.

Late Models

These cars are fast becoming the fan favorite simply because these cars are…fast! With speeds reaching 170kph down the strait-away, you can actually feel these cars fly by. Fields of 23-30 Late Models compete weekly in an all out war. A huge Prize Purse of $100,000.00 is up for grabs to the year end top points contenders.

Stock Cars

It’s back to the roots of racing with the 2 Castrol Raceway Stock classes; Econo Stock and Bud Stock. Both classes are a great introduction to motor sport at the lowest possible cost, but don’t let that fool you we have some great veteran Stock drivers.
