The Raffle Terms and Conditions are prescribed by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
The highlights are as follows:
License is a blanket license authorizing the sale of as many tickets as possible at each event.
Raffle tickets shall not be sold to a person under the age of 18 years.
Members of the Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc and their immediate families are not eligible to win raffle prizes.

Discount ticket (Blue) – $5 for 10 tickets
The 50/50 Raffle draw will be a “Bearer Ticket Draw” and the draw tickets will be issued without the buyers name, address, and telephone number under the following circumstances:
i) Sales are limited to a specified race event. Sales will occur over certain hours during the event only. Only tickets sold during the event are eligible for that event draw and the number of tickets sold during an event is unlimited since this is a 50/50 draw. The application authorizes 1,000 regular tickets and 197,000 discount tickets. If this amount of tickets are sold prior to completion of the 2010 racing season at Castrol Raceway Park a request to AGLC will be made in writing to request authorization for additional tickets.
ii) Sales will occur in the confined area of the viewing stands and participant area within the security fence enclosure area.
iii) The draw is announced to the public and it will occur before the end of the activity when the individual ticket buyers are likely to be present and can claim their prize.
iv) All winners for the 2010 Nisku-Leduc 50/50 Raffle season will be posted and available for viewing on the Castrol Raceway web site http://www.castrolraceway.com at the designated link for the ongoing 2010 Rotary Castrol Raceway 50/50 Raffle. The daily event winner will be posted on the window at the sales booth located on the Castrol Raceway grounds.
The draw will be done at Castrol Raceway Park (2 km east of highway 2 on highway 19) in view of the main spectator seating area by a third party, chosen at random, by the Rotary Club of Nisku-Leduc event captain. The individual drawing the ticket cannot have purchased tickets or share in any tickets for that draw. The draw winner will present their numbered bearer ticket to the event captain who will match it with the draw ticket to authenticate it. The winner’s name, address and telephone number will be recorded on the prescribed form for 50/50 draw records and the winner will receive 50% of the event’s total ticket sales for that event by cheque drawn on the raffle account.
With bearer tickets being sold, there shall be a maximum of 3 draws made to declare a winner. Due to the possibility of inclement weather affecting the race track operation and the timing of the draw to declare a winner, there is to be two weather related possibilities:
“Rain Delay” – due to a minor rain with moisture on the race track, track management through the track announcer may suspend racing for a short time. During this time the majority of the track spectators / 50 50 raffle ticket purchasers, will remain in the viewing stands or the immediate area to return when the track announcer declares the race meet operational again. The 50/50 draw will be done when the track announcer advises the race meet is now operational and on again.
“Lengthy Rain Delay” – due to a more intense rain resulting in excessive moisture on the race track, track management through the track announcer may suspend racing for a lengthy period of time. During this time the majority of the track spectators / 50/50 raffle ticket
purchasers, may leave the viewing stands or / the immediate area and they are not expected to return when the track announcer declares the race meet operational again. The 50/50 draw will be done when the “lengthy rain delay” is announced by the track announcer and a majority of the spectators have left the area. One ticket draw will be made with the results to be posted at the Rotary booth on the ground and on the Castrol Raceway web site at http:/www.castrolraceway.com . The draw winner with the winning ticket can present their winning ticket within 72 hours from the time the ticket was drawn to the event captain at the ticket sales booth at Castrol Raceway (if the booth is open) to claim their 50/50 raffle prize or telephone (780) 719-0328 or the alternative phone number recorded on the Castrol Raceway web site. If the prize is not claimed within the 72 hour time limit the unclaimed prize will be added to the prize pool of the next event that commences at least 72 hours after the time the ticket was drawn.
All raffle winners must claim their raffle prize, except for a “Lengthy Rain Delay”, within 15 minutes of the draw taking place in front of the spectator seating area and the winning ticket number will be announced on the raceway public announcement system. If there is no winner, an alternative bearer ticket number will be drawn, and the winner is to claim their 50/50 raffle prize within 15 minutes. The draw location and raceway public announcement system will be used for each winner and alternate winner until the 50/50 Raffle prize is claimed. A new ticket will be drawn every 15 minutes for a maximum of 3 draws for a winner to be declared. If no winner presents themselves after 3 draws the third ticket will be treated as a ticket drawn for a “lengthy rain delay”.
On the last event of the season in order to ensure a winning ticket is drawn sales of tickets will be stopped one extra hour before the end time of the event to allow sufficient time to do the draw to ensure a winning ticket is drawn. If the prize is not claimed for whatever reason the unclaimed prize will be retained and permission obtained from AGLC to disburse the prize in accordance with their “unclaimed prize procedure”.
If the event is cancelled by Castrol Raceway, after ticket sales have started and prior to the scheduled draw time, one ticket will be drawn and the number will be posted on the sales booth and on the Castrol Raceway website. The ticket drawn will be treated as a “lengthy rain delay”.
Draws will take place from May 29, 2010 to September 18, 2010 as per schedule attached.
There will be no refunds issued for tickets sold.
The raffle rules, raffle license, and dispute chairman contact information will be kept with the Team 50/50 supplies which are under the custody of the event captain for each event. The dispute chairman is Les Brownlee, Phone (780) 719 – 0328.
